Cloves goes well with sweet, fruity, caramelized, chocolaty, and meaty notes. Ground cloves are often used in baked ham, red cabbage, carrots, pickel beets, sausages, pot roast, luncheon meats, cured meats, salad dressings, desserts, fruit cakes and puddings.
